Chicago Daily Law Bulletin has named Akerman Partner LaKeisha Marsh a recipient of its 2024 Top Women in Law Award, which recognizes female lawyers whose work advances other women in the profession by being an example of leadership, mentorship, and community impact. LaKeisha was selected from among a pool of more than 300 nominations for the award.
LaKeisha chairs both Akerman’s Government Affairs and Public Policy Practice and its Higher Education and Collegiate Athletics Practice. She leads a bipartisan team of professionals providing strategic counsel on policy and regulatory issues, as well as advocates for clients before federal, state, and local governments and agencies. LaKeisha also represents colleges, universities, and related institutions on federal and state regulatory compliance, accreditation, state licensure, institutional governance, and NCAA compliance-related matters and collegiate sports matters, including name, image, and likeness. She has structured and executed a broad range of transactional, restructuring, finance, and corporate governance matters for educational institutions.
LaKeisha will be honored during the Top Women in Law Awards reception on November 7 at Prime and Provisions in Chicago.
