Miami Office Managing Partner Neisen Kasdin told the South Florida Business Journal about plans to expand the size of a construction and renovation project in the historic Ocean Terrace district in north Miami Beach. While the original scope of the project - which involved construction of new luxury condos, renovation of the historic Broadmoor and Ocean Surf hotels, and creation of a new oceanfront public space - remains the same, the developers and the city reached a deal that would increase the land area and allow more density. The condo tower and hotels will now include additional units, though the proposed height of the buildings is the same.
The new plan will “transform this from being a barren vehicular street that is not great for pedestrians into a pedestrian-oriented promenade,” said Kasdin.
