The 2024 Law Firm Climate Change Scorecard awarded Akerman with an “A” rating in its report evaluating the role of the legal industry in addressing the climate crisis. The scorecard is the culmination of an in-depth analysis of climate-related work handled by the Vault 100, a ranking of the country’s largest and most prestigious law firms. The study, conducted by Law Students for Climate Accountability (LSCA), seeks to amplify the roles and responsibilities of the legal industry in connection with climate change. The LSCA reviewed how much clean energy and fossil fuels work the firms have engaged in over the prior five years and calculated scores based on litigation, transactional, and lobbying work.
The scorecard is produced annually by LSCA student leaders to provide peers, including students and young associates, with information they can use to make career decisions that are aligned with their environmental goals.
