Akerman’s Bankruptcy and Reorganization Practice Group was honored as a recipient of a Turnaround Atlas Award for Health Services Restructuring of the Year. Partners David Parham and Esther McKean accepted the award for their work representing the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors of online pharmacy The Pill Club.

The Committee was active in the Section 363 sale process, in which the debtor’s assets were acquired by Thirty Madison for $32.2 million. The plan was confirmed on July 15.

Presented yearly by Global M&A Network, the award “equates to achieving the ‘Gold Standard of Performance’ standing in the industry, validating the [firm’s] and [team’s] excellence.” It honors the achievements of  legendary leaders, outstanding firms, and high-value transactions from the restructuring, distressed investing, and insolvency world.

The Akerman partners received the award during the 16thannual Gala and Dinner on September 10 in New York.
