Akerman was recognized by Florida's Children First as a "Champion for Children" for the outstanding pro bono and volunteer service of its Orlando lawyers and staff as part of the Akerman Give Back Campaign. Florida's Children First is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing rights of at-risk children and youth in Florida's foster care system. Orlando Office Managing Partner Charlie Brumback accepted the award on behalf of the firm during the organization's award ceremony on Sept. 15.
