Akerman represented AE Industrial Partners, LP (AE Industrial), a private equity firm focused on national security, aerospace, and industrial services, in its acquisition of Air Transport Components (ATC), a leading provider of aircraft component maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services. The acquisition marks the launch of AE Industrial’s specialized aerospace MRO services platform, positioning ATC as its foundational investment.
The Akerman deal team was led by Corporate Partner Andrew Hard, M&A and Private Equity Practice Co-Chair Paul Quinn, Corporate Practice Group Co-Chair Emeritus Carl Roston, Corporate Associate Ledah Geller, and Corporate Associate Glorimer Rodriguez.
With more than 25 years of experience, ATC brings extensive technical expertise and repair capabilities across critical aircraft components, including landing gear, hydraulics, airframes, flight controls, and avionics. Operating out of over 100,000 square feet across facilities in Gilbert, Arizona, and Tulsa, Oklahoma, ATC has serviced nearly every major U.S. commercial airline and repaired over one million components.
This transaction builds on AE Industrial’s successful history in the aviation aftermarket, complementing prior investments in companies such as Yingling Aviation, AIM MRO, and Kellstrom Aerospace. EY served as financial advisor to AE Industrial.
