Akerman represented Alliance Ground International (AGI), an airport services provider, as its outside general counsel, and also represented AGI's management team, in the acquisition of AGI by Lone Star Funds, a global private equity firm, from Audax Private Equity and Greenbriar Equity Group.

Founded in 1987 and headquartered in Miami, Florida, AGI provides airport ground handling and cargo services to airlines and logistics customers across North America, operating at more than 60 airports in the United States and Canada.

The Akerman team advising AGI included corporate law partner Jonathan Awner, labor and employment law partners Arlene Kline and Marissa Alguire, and tax law partner William Sullivan. Akerman has represented AGI since 2017, primarily in general corporate, employment, and regulatory law matters.
