Akerman’s Los Angeles office proudly sponsored the Rotary Club of Los Angeles’ annual Good Sam celebration on October 24, which honored community leaders and philanthropists Rodney and Holly Robinson Peete. The event recognized the couple’s longstanding dedication through The HollyRod Foundation to raising awareness and providing resources to families with a loved one who has received an autism or Parkinson’s Disease diagnosis.

The Good Sam Award is given to a community leader who has demonstrated bold and inspiring leadership in advancing human kindness, understanding, and compassion. Past recipients include LeVar Burton (2024), Jack McBrayer (2023), and Dete Meserve (2022). The award is named after Good Sam, a book written by Dete Meserve about an anonymous "Good Samaritan."

Akerman attorneys Caroline Mankey, Laura Premi, Max Sonnenberg, and Rachel McRoskey joined Joshua Mandell in representing the firm at the event. Their continued engagement reflects the Los Angeles team’s commitment to expanding educational opportunities and supporting the next generation of community leaders.
