Akerman will be recognized by EastWest Institute (EWI), an independent NGO that promotes peace and diplomacy, for its pro bono efforts helping the organization navigate governance and regulatory challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

"For the past 10 months, Bill Ide and the Akerman team have spent many hours navigating the significant governance and regulatory issues which threatened the financial viability of EWI. The work of Stefi George and Donald David in devising strategies to protect our endowment corpus was particularly meaningful," said Ross Perot, Jr., Chairman of EWI's Board.

The firm will be recognized at EWI’s upcoming annual meeting, to be held virtually, on November 12. For 40 years, EWI has worked toward conflict prevention around the world, providing a trusted platform for candid global discourses that develop sustainable solutions for today’s major political, economic and security issues.
