Respected journal Crain’s Chicago Business has included Akerman partners Amy Doehring and Julia Lissner on its "Notable Litigators and Trial Attorneys" list. The list recognizes accomplished litigators and trial attorneys in the Chicago area for their success during the last 18 months. Among those eligible are individuals serving as litigators or trial attorneys at a partner or partner equivalent level and have practiced in their profession for a minimum of 10 years

Doehring is Office Managing Partner in Chicago and also serves as co-chair of Akerman’s Probate and Fiduciary Litigation Practice. She represents clients in a wide variety of complex litigation matters in federal and state courts across the country as well as in arbitration. She has experience working with clients across several major industries including healthcare, food and beverage, engineering, manufacturing, and insurance. She also assists corporate clients in disputes arising out of commercial transactions and advises trustees and beneficiaries in trust and estate controversies. Crain's Chicago has previously included Doehring on its "Chicago's Notable Women Lawyers" list. She has also been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America and Leading Lawyers for "Commercial Litigation." Doehring was elected to the International Association of Defense Counsel earlier this year.

Lissner is a partner in Akerman's Litigation Practice Group and serves on the firm’s Pro Bono Executive Council. She represents companies and individuals in business litigation, intellectual property litigation, and resolving other complex commercial disputes. Crain's Chicago has previously included Lissner on its "Notable Women in Law" list and, last year, she was named to Benchmark Litigation’s “40 & Under Hot List” and received a Jury Verdict Reporter "Trial Lawyer Excellence" Award from Law Bulletin Media. She is also a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America trial lawyer honorary society and has been repeatedly recognized by Super Lawyers and Leading Lawyers.
