Labor and Employment Associate Ashlea Edwards received a President's Award from the Young Lawyers Division of The Florida Bar. The award recognizes Edwards' leadership and work as chair of the Young Lawyers Division committee, which worked alongside The Florida Bar Henry Latimer Center for Professionalism to develop and maintain long-term professionalism and ethics programming for Florida law schools and Florida young lawyers. Edwards serves as a Fourth Circuit Governor on the Young Lawyers Division, whose mission is to stimulate and encourage the interest and participation of division members in the purposes of The Florida Bar. The programming funds were received from a four-judge panel of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the result of a case in which sanctions were levied against two law firms due to ethical and professionalism violations.

Edwards focuses her practice on employment litigation and counseling. She represents employers in a variety of matters, including ADA violations, harassment, discrimination, whistleblowing, employee leave and reasonable accommodations, wrongful termination, retaliation, and wage and hour violations. Her practice also focuses on defending clients before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the U.S. Department of Labor, and other administrative agencies. As part of her counseling practice, Edwards provides a range of support to clients, including corporate governance counseling and investigations, policy interpretation and implementation, and reviewing and drafting of employment handbooks along with employment related agreements.
