Akerman Real Estate Partner Benjamin E. Wilson has been named to the Real Estate Advisory Board at the University of Kentucky Gatton College of Business and Economics. The board comprises real estate professionals and alumni who advise the college on its curriculum, mentor students, and create industry networking opportunities.
Ben was recommended for the appointment after graduating with a 4.0 GPA from the University of Kentucky's MBA program in 2025 and being a loyal supporter of the University of Kentucky, and due to his extensive real estate experience and expertise. His three-year term begins in October.
Ben focuses his practice on real estate development and finance, hospitality, and commercial and residential real estate transactions. He regularly represents national builders and developers of master planned, condominium, single family, and multifamily residential communities, as well as mixed-use and commercial developments, throughout all phases of the real estate development process, including contract and lease negotiation, due diligence, land acquisitions and dispositions, and loan negotiation. He also regularly represents lenders and investors in these projects. Ben is a 2026 graduate of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Southeast Florida/Caribbean Leadership Institute and is recommended by The Legal 500, 2026, for Real Estate – Mid-Market.
