Employee Benefits Partner Beth Alcalde has been elected a Fellow of the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel (ACEBC), an invitation-only professional association of leading employee benefits lawyers in the United States. Her induction took place November 8, 2025, at the ACEBC Annual Meeting and Gala Dinner at The Francis Marion Hotel in Charleston, South Carolina, where new Fellows are honored and excellence in the field is celebrated.
ACEBC Fellows must have a minimum of 20 years of experience in employee benefits law. They are selected through a peer-nomination process recognizing exceptional reputation, expertise, and contributions to employee benefits law. Beth joins renowned practitioners skilled in ERISA compliance, executive compensation, retirement plan design, and benefits litigation.
A member of Akerman's Executive Committee, Beth focuses her practice on employee benefits compliance, executive compensation, and retirement plan matters. She advises Fortune 500 companies and other public and private entities across the hospitality, healthcare, and higher education sectors. Beth counsels on compliance with ERISA, the Affordable Care Act, and other federal laws and assists clients with audits by the IRS, Department of Labor, and Department of Health and Human Services. She also helps clients address complex issues under the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act.
Beth is also a contributing author to the Employee Benefits Institute of America and a frequent speaker on benefit plan compliance, privacy, and security. She has been recognized by Chambers USA as “terrific at coming up with imaginative solutions” and named a “Power Leader in Law” and one of the “Top 25 Influential Business Women” by South Florida Business Journal.
