Carrie Ann Wozniak spoke with Law360 about her unique experience working with Fifth District Court of Appeal Chief Judge C. Alan Lawson, who was recently named by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Supreme Court. Wozniak, who sits on the Fifth District Judicial Nominating Commission, also described the diverse strengths Judge Lawson will bring to the state's highest court.

In the article titled, "Fla. High Court Will Lean Further Right With Newest Justice," Law360 wrote, "Wozniak first met Judge Lawson when she was a young attorney working on an article about professionalism in the appellate realm. Others in the Orange County Bar Association suggested that she get in touch with him, and as she tells it, he was more than happy to assist."

Wozniak said, "He's so patient, he's kind and he's very humble, and I think the humility is really going to play into how he decides cases. He understands the role of the judiciary, of interpreting the law and not making the law. He respects separation of powers and he exercises judicial restraint."
