Akerman is proud to share that Litigation Practice Partner and Jacksonville Office Managing Partner Christian George has been inducted as the 2024-2025 Jacksonville Bar Association President. Organized in 1897, the Jacksonville Bar Association's mission is to encourage collegiality and serve its members in the practice of law, aid in the administration of justice, and foster respect for the law and the legal profession.

George has served on the Jacksonville Bar Association Board of Governors since 2016, previously as secretary and most recently as treasurer. He is active in both the local and state bar associations, previously serving as president of the Young Lawyers’ Division of The Florida Bar, an organization with approximately 28,000 members, and a former President of the Jacksonville Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section.
An experienced business litigator with a national practice and deep local roots, George devotes his practice to protecting the rights of Fortune 500 companies and small businesses, shareholders, equity investors, members and partners in professional corporations, LLCs and partnerships, individuals, and families in all areas of commercial, bankruptcy, and real estate litigation. His experience encompasses disputes alleging fraud, breach of various types of contracts, tortious interference, misappropriation of trade secrets, breach of fiduciary duty; estate, trust, and probate litigation, shareholder and partner disputes, class actions, and real estate disputes, among others. In his bankruptcy practice, George focuses on the protection of secured and unsecured creditors, landlords, vendors, asset purchasers, post-petition lenders, and creditors’ committees in bankruptcy courts around the United States.
