International Practice Chair Pedro Freyre addressed developments in U.S.-Cuba relations during a CNN en Español segment titled, "The Thaw Between U.S. and Cuba." Freyre provided viewers with insight on a range of issues, from the implications behind Cuba's removal from the U.S. terrorism list to the significance of recent U.S. leader visits to the island nation. For a second appearance on CNN en Español, Freyre weighed in on the opening of passenger ferry routes between the two countries. In the segment titled, "U.S. Facilitates Maritime Connection with Cuba," Freyre commented on the U.S. political landscape and future business opportunities in Cuba. He cited increased interest from top Fortune 100 companies within the telecommunications, financial services, travel, manufacturing and agriculture sectors, among many others. Freyre addressed similar topics with Florida Trend, Hotel News Now, as well as Global Trade.

"You may as well say there has been a 'tsunami' of interest from top U.S. businesses looking at opportunities in Cuba," Freyre told CNN en Español.
