Dale Alexandra Cohen, a partner in Akerman's Corporate Practice Group, has been named a Rising Star in the Corporate category by the 2026 New York Legal Awards, presented by Law.com and the New York Law Journal. The annual awards honor outstanding achievement across New York's legal community, with the Rising Stars category spotlighting the state's most promising attorneys under 40.
Dale focuses her practice on domestic and international franchising, distribution, and licensing law, advising both emerging brands and widely recognized mature brands on structuring and implementing their franchise, distribution, and licensing programs. She counsels clients across the full spectrum of franchise law, from drafting agreements and disclosure documents to securing registrations and exemptions, navigating compliance, and advising on relationship issues including termination and dispute resolution. She also advises on franchise-related mergers and acquisitions, sophisticated financing transactions, and general corporate law.
Dale has earned consistent recognition across the franchise law community, including being listed by Best Lawyers in New York for Franchise Law, recognized as a "Legal Eagle" by Franchise Times, and named one of the "50 Era-Defining Women to Watch" by Global Franchise magazine.
