Akerman LLP, a top 100 U.S. law firm serving clients across the Americas, is pleased to announce that Donnie King has been selected to be part of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity’s (LCLD) 2021 class of Fellows, a landmark program created to identify, train, and advance the next generation of leaders in the legal profession.

Akerman and LCLD share a longstanding relationship, demonstrating the firm’s ongoing commitment to build a diverse and inclusive workplace for all. Previous Akerman LCLD Fellows include Adrian Smith, Martin BurkettMichael MarshKimberly Lopez NarbonaPalash PandyaLarry Ross II, and Naim Surgeon. Since 2011, LCLD’s Fellows Program has trained more than 1,600 high-potential lawyers from diverse backgrounds, setting them on the path to leadership of their organizations. The Fellow program produces a generation of lawyers with strong leadership and relationship skills who are committed to fostering diversity within their institutions and the profession at large.

King, a partner in the firm's Litigation Practice Group in Miami, is a national litigator with experience successfully handling complex and general commercial litigation, products liability, and personal injury matters through trial. His practice is focused on complex commercial disputes, including high stakes business litigation, business torts, private equity litigation, civil theft, antitrust, and sports and entertainment. His practice also includes product liability defense and the defense of traumatic personal injury actions and toxic tort cases. He has represented corporate entities and individuals in state and federal tribunals throughout the United States. King is also former Chairperson of Akerman's Black Internal Network.
