Tax Practice Partner Elizabeth Hughes has been elected a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC), an invitation-only professional association of pre-eminent trust and estate lawyers and law professors in the United States and around the world. ACTEC Fellows are selected through a peer-nomination process that recognizes exceptional reputation, professional expertise, and sustained contributions to the advancement of trust and estate law.

As a Fellow, Elizabeth joins leading practitioners dedicated to maintaining excellence in the field and to improving the practice of trust and estate law. ACTEC Fellows are skilled in the preparation of wills and trusts, estate planning and probate procedures, and the administration of trusts and estates of decedents, minors, and incapacitated persons.

Elizabeth focuses her practice on fiduciary litigation, with a particular concentration on disputes arising from Florida estates, trusts, and guardianships. She has extensive experience litigating complex matters involving will and trust contests, fiduciary fee disputes, elective share issues, and breaches of fiduciary obligations. Elizabeth also advises clients on guardianship and mental-health litigation proceedings and represents professional and non-professional guardians, as well as petitioners and respondents in Florida Marchman Act proceedings.
