Akerman Litigation Partner Ellen S. Robbins has been selected by the Los Angeles Business Journal as a 2026 Top 100 Lawyer and honored with the Community Impact award. The annual awards program recognizes attorneys who have demonstrated outstanding legal skill, significant professional accomplishments, and a positive impact on the Los Angeles business and legal community.
Ellen is Akerman's senior go-to trial lawyer on the West Coast, with extensive experience litigating disputes in both state and federal court on behalf of public and private companies. She focuses her practice on a wide variety of complex commercial disputes and strategically promotes her clients' interests through litigation, alternative dispute resolution, or business resolutions, including matters involving breach of contract, fraud, class actions, unfair competition, trade secrets, alter ego, misappropriation, securities law, product liability, environmental claims, and insurance coverage.
Ellen is also deeply committed to the community, serving as a member of the Foundation Board of Trustees of Children's Hospital Los Angeles, a board member and mentor with Walk With Sally, which supports children whose families are impacted by cancer, and has strengthened the local safety net through multiple Chair and leadership positions in Sandpipers, a women’s philanthropy group that supports local agencies serving those in need. Ellen has also played an instrumental role in ensuring equal access to education and opportunity for youth from underserved communities, both through her service on the Sandpipers Scholarship Committee and the Leadership Hermosa Beach Scholarship Committee, as well as through personal funding of scholarships.
This honor reflects Ellen's consistent recognition by the Los Angeles Business Journal, which has also twice named her a Leader of Influence in Litigators & Trial Attorneys, a Leader of Influence in Nonprofit & Philanthropy, and a finalist for both the Women's Leadership Awards and the Nonprofit & Corporate Citizenship Awards.
