New York City Mayor Eric Adams' proposal to exempt some new housing developments from environmental review gets analyzed by Akerman Real Estate litigator Rick Leland in a recent Law360 article. Adams' plan is aimed at easing some of the city's housing needs but Leland outlines why it is unlikely to happen.

"Simply stated, the mayor does not have the legal authority to create this exemption," Leland writes.
