Esther McKean has been elected as the president of the Central Florida Bankruptcy Law Association. She will serve for the year 2019.

McKean, a bankruptcy and reorganization partner in Akerman’s Orlando office, focuses her practice on business bankruptcy, creditor’s rights, and commercial litigation. She helps creditors and trustees in bankruptcy proceedings recover assets, obtain relief from the automatic stay, and negotiate plan provisions. Esther also represents debtors in bankruptcy proceedings and has significant experience in the restaurant, retail, and real estate sectors. McKean is Board Certified in Business Bankruptcy Law by The American Board of Bankruptcy Certification.

The Central Florida Bankruptcy Law Association supports the collegial and professional practice of bankruptcy law in the Orlando Division of the Middle District of Florida, and serves all bankruptcy practitioners in Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Lake and Brevard Counties.
