Forbes named Akerman in its inaugural America’s Top Corporate Law Firms listing, particularly recognizing the firm’s strengths in real estate in its “Most Recommended Practice Area” category. Forbes created its first-ever list of 243 top U.S. corporate law firms following survey responses from 2,500 lawyers. 

In a separate article, titled “Introducing America’s Top Corporate Law Firms 2019,” Forbes highlighted Akerman’s growing Cannabis Practice. “The Miami-based law firm Akerman has a nationally recognized cannabis practice, launched in 2014, that was among the first in big law to advise clients such as investment funds, cultivators, processors and dispensaries on the intricacies of cannabis regulation.”
