Real Estate associate Harrison Cooper was recently appointed to serve as Vice-Chair of the Chicago Bar Association’s Local Government Committee. The Local Government Committee deals with legal problems of villages, cities, counties, school districts and other local governmental bodies. The objectives of the Chicago Bar Association are to establish and maintain the honor and dignity of the profession of the law and to promote the general welfare of the members thereof, particularly by sponsoring and supporting continuing legal education programs covering new developments in all fields of law, to cultivate social relationships among its members, and to increase the usefulness of the legal profession in promoting the due administration of justice and the public good.
Cooper focuses his practice on commercial leasing and lending, real estate dispositions and acquisitions, land use planning and zoning entitlements, and related corporate transactions. He represents sellers and purchasers in various disposition and acquisition matters, including warehouses, shopping malls, and condominiums for high net worth clients. He regularly represents state and national lenders in lone and syndicated real estate transactions, including drafting loan documents for leasehold mortgages, cross-collateralized facilities, and low-income tax credit developments.
