Akerman Chairman and CEO Andrew M. Smulian has been honored by the Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA). Smulian was recognized for his role in supporting the arts, culture and philanthropy in the Miami community. The ICA is dedicated to promoting continuous experimentation in contemporary art, advancing new scholarship, and fostering the exchange of art and ideas throughout the Miami region and internationally.
Through Smulian’s leadership on the ICA’s Board of Trustees, the museum has been able to meet its goal to provide public access year-round, free of charge. For three years beginning in 2014, Akerman sponsored free admission at the ICA, making contemporary art and education accessible to over 75,000 attendees in the Miami community.
Smulian was honored at ICA’s annual reception on November 17 in the historic Moore Building in the Miami Design District.
