In The News

The Florida State University College of Law featured Felicia Nowels in its alumni magazine in an article titled, "Felicia Leorgne Nowels: Helping Business Trade Across Borders," which highlights Nowels' outstanding leadership and community involvement, including her recent appointment to sit on the U.S. Department of Commerce's Florida District Export Council. The article also describes her accomplishments at Akerman, assisting domestic and foreign companies on various aspects of international trade and customs transactional, regulatory and litigation matters. In the article, Nowels discusses her client-centric approach to her practice.

"I really focus on understanding my clients' needs and how I can help achieve those needs. And I am fascinated by how products are made, how they are traded, how they benefit our lives. And I thrive on being a part of solving business issues... I help entities with the movement of goods and services. I help foreign companies get their products into the United States, not only physically, but also on a regulatory level. And I also help domestic companies take their products and services abroad. A big component of what I do is regulatory compliance – supply chain security, export controls, licensing, regulatory standards."
