New York City Real Estate Partner Jaclyn Scarinci recently obtained community approval for Akerman client Astoria Park Warehouse LLC, allowing the company to move forward with Uniform Land Use Review Procedure (ULURP) process in NYC. The project will transform the former Riccardo's by the Bridge catering hall site that has been vacant since Covid into two new mixed-use developments at currently vacant sites. As covered in Queens Chronicle, Community Board 1 approved the rezonings this week with Scarinci noting that the developments will offer the opportunity for affordable homeownership to an underserved demographic. This is an important first step in ULURP process, the project will now move onto the Queens Borough President's office for review.
"Scarinci said the development’s prices for [MIH] studio units are 'very low to have a stake in homeownership in New York City.'"
