Litigation Practice Group Partner Joel Mohrman has been selected as the 2026 recipient of the Lola Wright Foundation Award by the Texas Bar Foundation. Established in 1985 in memory of distinguished Texas lawyer Coleman Gay, the award recognizes outstanding public service in advancing and enhancing legal ethics in Texas. Joel will be honored on June 12 at the Texas Bar Foundation Annual Dinner in Houston.

A trial attorney with more than 40 years of experience, Joel has tried more than 40 cases to verdict as first chair and litigated more than 100 trade secret and covenant-not-to-compete cases across 25 states. He is triple board certified in Civil Trial Advocacy — by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, the National Board of Civil Trial Advocacy, and the National Board of Civil Pretrial Advocacy — demonstrating his commitment to the highest professional standards. He is recognized by Best Lawyers, Managing Intellectual Property, and Super Lawyers.

A Life Fellow of both the American Bar Association Foundation and the Texas Bar Foundation, Joel has held numerous leadership positions within the American Bar Association, including former chair of the TIPS Fellows and the Business Litigation Committee. He serves on the boards of the Open Door Mission and St. Luke's United Methodist Church, where he has served as president.

The Texas Bar Foundation, a charitable organization established in 1965 to advance justice in Texas, has awarded more than $30 million in grants to enhance the rule of law and system of justice.
