Akerman Healthcare Associate John Hood has been named one of the inaugural recipients of the Health Law Section of The Florida Bar’s “Top 10 Under 40” award. The honor recognizes up-and-coming Florida attorneys who have demonstrated outstanding professional achievement, significant community service, and dedicated service to the legal profession, particularly in the field of healthcare law.

The award, announced by Health Law Section Chair Jamaal Jones, highlights Hood’s commitment to excellence and his contributions to strengthening health law practice in Florida. Hood’s recognition places him among the leading young attorneys shaping the future of healthcare law in the state.

Hood is based in Orlando and assists healthcare industry clients with transactional, operational, and regulatory matters. He has experience with physician group practice acquisitions, ambulatory surgery center transactions and licensure matters, and regulatory compliance issues.
