The Daily Business Review caught up with Akerman Cannabis Practice Chair Jonathan Robbins for information about Florida’s new bill which legalizes the sale of smokable marijuana for medical purposes. Gov. Ron DeSantis signed the bill into law following the overwhelming 2016 approval by voters of a constitutional amendment.
Robbins pointed out that before dispensaries can begin selling medical marijuana, the Florida Department of Health, Florida Board of Medicine, and Florida Board of Osteopathic Medicine will have to publish guidelines regarding sale. “There will be restrictions with respect to packaging or labeling,” he said.
