Jonathan Robbins, chair of Akerman’s Cannabis Practice, elaborated on Miami Beach's decision to implement a 1,200-foot boundary between dispensaries that eventually grandfathered in pharmacies in an interview with the Daily Business Review.
Robbins said of the city regulation, it “applies to pharmacies as well. But the target wasn’t Walgreens. The target was MedMen.” MedMen is a multi-state dispensary that recently entered the Florida Market, and is suing the City of Miami Beach following its 1,200-foot-boundary ordinance, which determined it’s too close to another existing dispensary.
