Joshua Bernstein, chair emeritus of Akerman’s Hospitality Sector Team, has been inducted as a 2026 member of the International Society of Hospitality Consultants, an invitation-only global organization of leading hospitality experts.

The International Society of Hospitality Consultants (ISHC)  is recognized as a premier resource for hospitality consulting, with more than 200 members in 26 countries and experience spanning over 60 markets and more than 50 specialty areas. Membership is extended to professionals who demonstrate outstanding reputation, deep industry expertise, and a sustained record of leadership and integrity in the hospitality sector.

An experienced, Chambers-ranked litigator, Joshua concentrates his practice on hospitality, real estate, and international disputes. He represents hotel owners and operators, commercial property owners, lenders, developers, and other market participants in matters involving hotel management, franchise and operations agreements, complex hospitality and real estate financing, commercial leases, joint ventures, and construction disputes.

With a national practice in federal and state courts, Joshua regularly advises hospitality investors, owners, and operators on protecting and enhancing the value of their assets, and has obtained multimillion-dollar judgments in matters with significant legal and business consequences. He also maintains a complementary practice in high-end collectibles litigation, including disputes involving game-worn sports memorabilia and other unique assets.

Through his induction into the ISHC, Joshua joins a global network of senior consultants committed to advancing the hospitality industry through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and thought leadership.
