Press Release

Akerman is proud to share that Litigation Partner Julia Lissner has been elected to a two-year term on the Board of Directors of the Appellate Lawyers Association (ALA). The ALA, founded in 1968, is an association of lawyers who practice in the courts of review and of the sitting judges who serve on those courts in Illinois. Lissner previously co-chaired the ALA’s Communications & Publicity Committee.

"Julia is an excellent litigator and leader," said Appellate Practice Chair Gerald Cope. "She will no doubt be an invaluable addition to the ALA board."

Lissner represents companies and individuals in business litigation, intellectual property litigation, and resolving other complex commercial disputes. Her accolades include being named to Crain’s Chicago's “Notable Litigators and Trial Attorneys” and “Notable Women in Law” lists, as well as Benchmark Litigation’s “40 & Under Hot List.” She also received a Jury Verdict Reporter “Trial Lawyer Excellence” award from Law Bulletin Media. Lissner is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America trial lawyer honorary society and has been repeatedly recognized by Super Lawyers and Leading Lawyers.
