Kanika Corley has been featured in The National Law Journal's list of Sports/Entertainment Trailblazers, which spotlights a handful of individuals that are truly agents of change in their field of law.

Corley opened up about the early years of her career, “Sports is my passion, so I focused my marketing efforts on bringing in sports matters, often involving IP. Once you get in a space, you can work around and network better.”

She elaborated, “I help clients who own those events with transactions, such as buying and selling events and litigating to protect the rights that arise. I hadn’t seen anyone really focus on that space, but I’ve come to realize they have their own way of doing things. That interested me, and I’ve gotten involved in assisting them to come up with standards on placing a value on these events. I have to find a way to negate the speculative valuation and buy and sell based on what companies are actually worth. I’ve done three or four deals over the past year.”

Corley has a broad-based commercial litigation, entertainment, and emerging technology practice. Through the years, she has worked with and provided legal assistance for a wide array of clients including: print, digital and television media companies; landowners and real estate developers; advertising agencies; boutique hotels; footwear and apparel designers and manufacturers; professional athletes; restaurant chains; software developers; musicians, writers and other creatives; and wine manufacturers, among others.
