Akerman was recognized among the "Powerhouse" firms in the Florida market, highlighting Akerman's strength in middle market M&A transactions, within the real estate and financial services sectors across numerous disciplines, and in cross-border transactions and disputes in Latin America.

Law360 reported that Akerman lawyers have been at the center of many of the transformational events in Florida's history for almost 95 years. We are aligned with client needs and have a hyperspecific focus on creating competitive advantage for our clients where we have competitive advantage as a law firm."

In describing the firm's continued growth across 20 offices in the U.S., Smulian said: "Building capacity in business centers like Chicago; New York; Washington, D.C.; and, of course, in Miami will continue to be part of our client-driven strategy."

Other Akerman lawyers quoted include: Cecelia Bonifay, Land Use & Sustainable Development Practice Chair; Mary Carroll, Corporate Practice Group Chair, and Luis Perez, Latin America & the Caribbean Practice Co-Chair.
