Litigation Of Counsel Ricky Patel has been appointed to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® Southern Florida Board of Directors, effective September 9, 2025.
In his new role, he will help guide the chapter’s strategic vision, provide governance and leadership, and ensure that the organization continues to deliver life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses across Southern Florida and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Dedicated to improving lives in South Florida and beyond, Ricky’s steadfast commitment to protecting human rights led him to create a foundation called ITS4THEKIDS, which provides resources to children in need. He previously served as chair of the board of trustees for the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami and he currently serves as vice chairman of the board of advisors for his alma mater, St. Thomas University School of Law. He has also worked extensively with an array of organizations, including The United Way, Gracious Hands Haitian Orphanage, Fashion Gives Back, which he co-founded, and Puerto Rico Relief.
Ricky focuses his practice on a wide array of issues, including complex litigation in state and federal court, crisis management for high-profile clients, and mass torts. He regularly works with hospitality industry clients and has been actively involved with the Asian American Hotel Owners’ Association from early on in his career.
