Massimo D’Angelo and Joshua Rinesmith spoke to Law360 on what New York City real estate lawyers should expect in the coming year. D’Angelo discussed the city’s need for affordable housing, and how that has shifted with the pandemic. Rinesmith focused on the rezoning of several neighborhoods, including Brooklyn’s Gowanus area and Manhattan’s SoHo and NoHo neighborhoods.
“I believe they see this area as being ripe for an increase in density, based on its access to mass transit,” Rinesmith said. The city sees “an increase in density as a way to help revitalize the Gowanus Canal, and help create a workable and usable waterfront.”
