Michael Larson has commenced his term as President of the Florida Brownfields Association (FBA) for 2026, after having been elected to serve as President-Elect in 2025 and elected to the Board of Directors for 2025-2026. The FBA is a statewide not-for-profit service organization dedicated to advancing Brownfields cleanup and redevelopment and is committed to advancing environmental justice in Florida. The FBA regularly holds conferences and events with key industry stakeholders and has been instrumental in shaping state Brownfields-related laws and regulations.   

A partner in Akerman’s Real Estate Practice Group, Michael’s practice focuses on advising clients on complex environmental law issues arising in regulatory, transactional, and litigation matters. He routinely assists clients with the cleanup, reuse, repurposing, and redevelopment of Brownfields and other contaminated or distressed properties. In addition to FBA, Michael is a member of the Florida Association of Environmental Professionals, Tallahassee Chapter.
