They regularly collaborate to bring clients the best legal counsel available but when it comes to basketball and sandwiches Akerman's New York and Miami offices are fierce rivals. The New York Law Journal recently profiled the offices as they cheer on the Knicks and Heat in the NBA conference semifinals, with Cuban and Reuben sandwiches on the line.

"As a law firm with a nationwide footprint there's a lot of opportunity to do interesting work together," said New York Office Co-Managing Partner Alan Cohen. "But there's also a lot of fun opportunities to give each other a hard time around our favorite sports teams."
