Business Today has named Pedro Freyre and Augusto Maxwell to its "Top 10 Cuban Business Lawyers" list. The list profiles lawyers the publication has identified as making substantial contributions to the complex intersections between international and Cuban business law.

Freyre is the chair of Akerman’s International Practice, a full-service team advising multinational and global corporations on a wide range of cross-border corporate, regulatory, finance, and dispute matters. Freyre is an internationally recognized authority on the U.S. embargo on Cuba and the evolving regulations enacted since the restoration of diplomatic relations between the United States and Cuba.

Maxwell chairs Akerman’s Cuba practice and has been a key figure in normalization of U.S./Cuba relations since 2003, including leading discussions between government officials and industry leaders on the realities of establishing ongoing business relations between the two nations.
