In May 2025, Akerman Special Counsel R. Adam Swick chaired the International Insolvency Institute (III) delegation at the 66th session of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) Working Group V in New York. The session marked significant progress with the approval of the Asset Tracing and Recovery (ATR) toolkit, a practical resource for insolvency practitioners, and continued discussions on the complex issue of applicable law in cross-border insolvency cases. In conjunction with the 66th session, Akerman, along with UNCITRAL and III, hosted the program, "The Intersection of Maritime Law and Insolvency."

The Working Group will reconvene in Vienna in December 2025 to continue its international insolvency work.
