Real Estate Finance Chair Randy Eckers was recently featured in Commercial Investment Real Estate's podcast discussing the Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy program (C-PACE) and its benefits. "C-PACE is basically a loan that's made by a private lender for the purpose of financing sustainable and energy efficient improvements on commercial property," said Eckers. "For whatever reason, many people misunderstand it [or] don't know about it. Once you explain it to them, it becomes a really, really appealing, non-traditional financing [option]." Through C-PACE, developers, owners, investors, and operators can access low-cost, long-term, fixed rate upfront financing across commercial real estate markets.
