RE: MiamiBeach is following Neisen Kasdin’s representation of the restaurant Sushi Bichi in Miami, as it sought permission from the Miami Beach Historic Preservation (HPB) to extend alcohol service hours for its outdoor bar. The restaurant required additional approval since it is attached to a residential building. City code allowed Sushi Bichi to only serve alcohol from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and according to Kasdin, the restricted hours have been one of the challenges for previous operators in the space. The HPB approved the request.

RE: MiamiBeach quoted Kasdin as testifying to the HPB, “The most important thing to activate Ocean Terrace,” in addition to the upcoming streetscape project, “is to have restaurants and other places that attract clientele and generate… pedestrian activity.”
