Environment and Natural Resources Practice Chair Robyn Neely was quoted in a Law360 article titled, “Brownfield Redevelopment Evolving As Savvy Grows,” discussing regulatory and risk-management best practices for developers with projects tied to brownfield sites.

Law360 wrote, “Finding a brownfield spot with enough potential for redevelopment is only the first step. Developers then must decide if they have the stomach for the intensive analysis and review process that goes with it, Robyn Neely, chair of Akerman LLP’s environment and natural resources practice, said.

“She said a common pitfall is that developers may choose to skimp on environmental analyses and forgo consulting with an environmental attorney. A high quality environmental due diligence process should minimize surprises and assure that project developers are taking advantage of the opportunities available to them at a brownfield site.”
