Chicago Office Managing Partner Scott Meyers was quoted in a Chicago Lawyer report titled, “Growth Stories,” following the publication’s 2018 largest law firm survey. Meyers discussed with the publication how client demand has continued to shape Akerman’s growth in Chicago, after firm headcount increased from eight to 51 lawyers since opening doors in 2014. Chicago Lawyer also highlighted Akerman’s physical expansion plans, following the recently completed growth of Akerman’s office space in downtown Chicago. Akerman added nearly 41,000 square feet to the more than 33,000 square feet it occupies on the 46th floor of 71 South Wacker; the expansion included the building’s top floors, the 47th and 48th.

“We have always worked backward from ‘What do our clients need? What do our clients want? What do our clients expect us to be?’ rather than a strategy of ‘if we build it the clients will come,’” Meyers told the publication.
