Scott Meyers, office managing partner for Akerman LLP's Chicago office, was quoted in the Law360 article titled, "Martoma Case Shows Insider Trading Defense Far From Easy," which reported on the most recent insider trader defense case in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. The case concerned former SAC Capital Advisors LP manager Mathew Martoma, the 79th defendant found guilty in Manhattan federal court of insider trading in the last four years. Meyers commented on the challenges in defeating such cases.

"Scott Meyers said Martoma's defense team 'did a good job with a tough case'… Still, Meyers noted that the government chooses which cases to prosecute – and has exacting standards," Law360 reported.
