Spencer Crowley was quoted in a Miami Herald story titled, "Polluted Waterway on the Mend in Miami." The article reported on efforts by the Miami River Commission to stem pollution throughout the Seybold Canal connected to the city river. As Miami-Dade County Commissioner for the Florida Inland Navigation District, Crowley told the publication that cleanup efforts across the canal would restore a waterway in dire needs of environmental repair. He also added the cleanup project may have a positive effect on the Miami River and its neighboring communities.
