Stephen Tilbrook, who is the 2021 chair-elect for the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, was featured in the organization’s podcast, where he elaborated on the impact of COVID-19 on the development and construction sectors.
Tilbrook shared with the host, “When you've got projects that are under construction in the development phase, financing has already been acquired, contracts have already been left. You need to complete the process. Fortunately, our governor has identified construction land development as an essential service. He recognizes that once you begin the development process, you can’t just stop in the middle of construction; it creates dangers, it creates inefficiencies… So we’re seeing in many cases construction is continuing, however, that is contingent upon a partner in government having access to governmental permits, governmental inspections.”
