Steve Polivy recently discussed with Crain's New York Business the potential advantages of Amazon choosing Long Island City (LIC) as a site for its second headquarters. In an article titled, "Amazon's possible LIC choice takes landlords by surprise," Polivy examines the potential tax incentives that Amazon could receive from the state of New York as well as the number of new jobs the giant could bring to the area.

Polivy believes the tax break is worth it for the state based on the potential investment and the number of jobs it would bring. He explains, "It's a huge tax break, certainly the largest in New York in recent history that I can think of"..."Yes, you can overdeliver benefits for a project like this, and that's the risk. But the amount of investment that this will spur will be transformational for the city."
