A former interim Medicaid director, assistant deputy secretary, deputy general counsel and chief Medicaid counsel for the State of Florida, Steven Grigas was quoted extensively in a Miami Today article titled, “Legislature Likely to Face Reruns in Its Healthcare Legislation.” In the report, Grigas outlined core healthcare laws at the center of debate during Florida’s 2018 legislative session. In particular, he told the publication the most critical issues for state legislators are likely to include the repeal of Florida’s certificate-of-need program that regulates the opening of new healthcare ventures. In addition, he discussed what may drive regulatory changes to telemedicine, service expansions by non-doctors, authorization protocols for certain healthcare procedures and the regulatory outlook for medical marijuana.
